My new Team Durango DEX408, electric 8th scale buggy, arrived last night and I was able to start the build. Here are my initial impressions with the new buggy.

Jeff, Wesley and his date, Charles, Crystal, Skylar, and I went to the Renaissance Festival this weekend. Christie was going to go but in her current condition she wasn’t up for walking around all day. We had a great time, I had a few beers and mead and was tipsy pretty much the whole day. There are pictures of the festivities in the photo gallery, take a look at some of the outrageous costumes. 

Christie got some free tickets for us to go to Wings Over Houston. She had to drive the bus there and ended up having to chaperon some kids. It was really hot and there was alot of walking involved. It was a fun day however I doubt i would go again with the school field trip. There are some cool pics in the photo gallery of some pf the planes, there is even some really cool shots of a “Near” super sonic fly by of an F-18.

So last week (June 18th) a fire destroyed the offices at our apartment complex. It looks like it started on the far side of the building in an equipment shed and spread quickly to the rest of the building. I was just about to sit down at my desk at work when Christie called me. She knows that I can’t answer my phone while at work so I knew it had to be something serious. So I called her back thats when sh told me about the fire, and that everything was alright and that I didn’t need to leave work. Yeah right!!! There is no way I was going to sit at work while a building right next to my apartment was on fire. So I left work and got home as quickly as I could, which is a good thing too cause by the time I got there the fire was still burning and my apartment is right next to the burning building and down wind. Christie’s mother came by to pick up Leonidas and take him for the day. I think there were 4 or 5 different fire trucks there battling the blaze and finally get the it under control. After all was said and done there was no damage to our apartment building but the main offices were destroyed along with all our mail, no one was hurt and I was able to go back to work. I will be uploading pictures of the fire later.

I finally got around to processing the pics from last weekend, I got them up in the Photogallery take a look. There is a cool series of pics from a race where one of the cars engines exploded and blew the body of the car 30 feet in the air, luckily no one was hurt.

This morning I decided to sit down and proccess the photos sitting on my camera’s memory card and put them up on the site. Which means I got the pictures from the Houston auto show up in the gallery.

I finally got around to putting up the pictures from new years up in the photo gallery. Take a look in the photo gallery to see all the cinnamon challenge glory!!!

I’m pretty sure I got everything working the way I want it on this wordpress, The last thing for me to do is get the photo gallery moved over from the old site, I have a migration script but I ran out of time during my lunch break to move everything over so it will have to wait till after work to finish. Once the photo galleries are moved over that should be the last piece of the puzzle before I move this site into production to replace the php-fusion site I had running for almost 2 years.

We got a new puppy this last weekend. He is a Shih Tzu and at 8 weeks old he is adorable. We have been looking for a puppy for the last few weeks, I was able to find a local breader right next to Mayde Creek Highschool. Thursday after work I drove by and saw all the puppies they had, Christie and I had decided earlier to get a male and they had a few to choose from. So I told Christie about them and friday after she got off work we went to look together and fell in love with this little guy, we went home and discussed it and decided to get him. We picked him and and took him to the pet store to pick up the essentials; collar, leash, bed, then took him home. We couldnt think of a name until sunday when I went to work and asked in group chat for suggestions, someone said Leonidas, from the movie 300, and I loved it, I told Christie about it and we decided to go with it. He picked up his name so quick by the end of the night he was coming when called by his name. Head on over to the galleries to see pictures of little Leonidas.

Ok I got the pictures I took from the Verdezyne Holiday party at the San Diego Wild Animal Park up in the photogallery. Take a look and for those of you with embarrassing pictures let me know and I can remove whatever pictures you want. This was actually a really fun party, thanks Lisa, and I got some really cool pics of some of the animals, there is even a great shot of Mike and Lisa with a Lion “Oh My!!!”
